By building on top of a preexisting building, the new scheme better addresses the unique needs and privacy concerns for the school and transforms the existing building into a public building for the neighborhood. They were the minorities of the society who could not have spaces for their own. The project brings up questions about defining the meanings of invasive species and aims to design a platform for the new ecology of the people and plants who were always regarded as invasive species. Therefore, connecting the project with this apartment building will make a strong relationship between the impact of the metro station entrance and inhabitants. By lifting the metro station programs, which were placed horizontally until they reach the height of the ground level and that of Stuyvesant Town, the project will be a new inhabitant facade of Stuyvesant Town. Programs of “facade” are for the public purpose. By connecting vertically through ramps and stair pathways, inhabitants and pedestrians will walk the facade of Stuyvesant Town. Nahyun Hwang, N H D M Architects&nbsp; Indoor Ocean is a research about constructing artificial nature in an old factory located in Newburgh. It is motivated by a local business named Eco Shrimp Garden. To create an indoor ocean in a vacant factory, various machines and technologies were used to maintain ocean species. Relating the life-cycle of shrimps, different tubes were placed. Rather than displacing water and waste from shrimps, RAS (Recirculating Aquaculture System) is installed. This system allows water to circulate instead of disposing wastewater into sewers and rivers.
